Creative Embroidery

Embroidery is a timeless folk tradition, and this beginner-friendly workshop is designed to make it feel approachable, satisfying, and fun from the very first stitch. We’ll begin by reviewing the basics and sharing simple, professional tips—like how to thread a needle with ease—so you feel confident and set up for success. From there, you’ll build skills step by step as you learn foundational embroidery stitches, including the split stitch, blanket stitch, satin stitch, and the ever-charming French knot. 

Led by Art Coach and Teaching Artist Jenny Santa Maria, this workshop takes place in a warm, supportive setting where learning feels accessible and encouraging. You’ll be excited to embrace embroidery as a form of expression long after the workshop ends. New fall-inspired patterns to stitch will be available, exclusively for this workshop at The Creative Knot!

A $5 materials fee is due to the instructor on the day of class.  Class usually runs around $45 a person.

Guided by Teaching Artist Jenny Santa Maria, this workshop treats needlework as both a useful life skill and a creative, empowering act of care.  A $10 materials fee is due to the instructor on the day of class.
