ROCK LOBSTER

Ralph Ottaviano is a third-generation commercial artist who spent his youth learning his craft at the Brooklyn Museum and at MoMA in Manhattan while summering in Southampton, NY.

He enjoyed swimming, clamming, musseling, crabbing, boating, and fishing with his family throughout his years at university.

The New Jersey shore then became his sands of choice.  It was during this time that his bud "G" tagged him with the Rock Lobster nickname because of his dark complexion from May through September.

Rock Lobster now wants to share his experiences and love for the beach life through art that celebrates our East Coast spirit.
  • Studied art at CUNY, SUNY
  • Self-taught oil and acrylic painter.
  • Subsequently built a long career as a professional artist despite being color blind.
  • Raised in New York City. Currently resides in North Carolina.
